Broodstock Collection - West Fork Grays River, WA
- Adult Chum Salmon are captured by seining or hook and line in the West Fork of the Grays River. (Photos 1. & 2.)
- Fish are carried in PVC tubes to a holding tank in a pickup truck before transfer to Grays River or Beaver Creek Hatchery. (Photo 3.)
- After spawning, eggs are tranfered to Big Creek Hatcheryfor incubation and fry are reared in the hatchery holding ponds. (Photo 4.)
- Chum fry (Photo 5.) are released in Big Creek during March and April to begin their downstream migration into the Columbia River.
